I’m not sure if building a plugin from scratch in this case would be all that daunting since it could be a quite streamlined sample player. While they could create their own plugin from scratch (or almost scratch with something like HISE) and this would be the most flexible route, it is also a major undertaking.Īnd if most of your developer's expertise is with Kontakt, there will have to be a lot of relearning or hiring of new developers. (Although, to be fair, I don't know much about either.) Sonuscore have already done some stuff for Steinberg's Halion and there is UVI's Falcon, but I'm not sure that either of those will bring massive improvements over Kontakt.
